Whilst Blackboard has an array of features within it that can be utilised by staff and students, there are occasions where external tools are better suited. Many of these are able to operate from within the VLE allowing for greater functionality and easier access, rather than students having to locate these tools themselves or being directed away from the learning environment to a site that may be of great distraction. We’ll learn about the wealth of external tools that can be embedded within a course and provide a detailed walkthrough of the embedding process. Examples of items that can be embedded include YouTube videos, Planet eStream recordings, Padlet walls and H5P games.
